1000 Pressure Equipment Directive Documents into Eleven Languages

THE CHALLENGE
Emerson Process Management was challenged to comply with new standards developed by the European Union (EU) to insure control valves, regulators, and instruments produced by the Fisher Division of Emerson were available to their European market. The European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) focuses on hazards caused by pressure equipment, and manufacturers worldwide must comply to continue to do business in Europe. Translated product information is required for each target market. A Fisher valves taskforce was established to study the law and determine compliance strategies. The project was to localize over 1000 PED documents into 11 languages. Some of Fisher’s customers began demanding compliance before the compulsory compliance date was to take effect.
