Software Localization projects are assigned to a senior PMP-certified project manager. Your project manager, in conjunction with departmental managers, is responsible for selecting, allocating, and managing all translation, engineering & testing, and desktop publishing resources associated with your project to ensure deliverables are on time and within budget. Your project manager is responsible for:
• Project planning, scheduling, and kickoff
• Client communication and team coordination
• Cost control, project tracking, and reporting
• Change management, troubleshooting, and problem solving
• Post-production review and implementation of feedback
In-Country Translation
Translations are carried out by in-country, native-speaking, and sector-specific software translators and editors, so you are assured the highest quality possible. Professional translation teams are managed by senior-level translators who ensure adherence to glossaries and style guides and monitor error rates. McElroy Translation has extensive software localization resources across all business sectors and can scale to meet the largest of requirements.
The translation process is supported through our use of translation memory (TM) tools that enhance consistency across all project components and help reduce costs over the product’s life cycle.
Engineering and Testing
McElroy’s engineering and testing team is made up of seasoned veterans who have experience in all standard programming languages and platforms. Our team provides either on-site or in-house testing using existing text plans or plans they have developed on your behalf. We will work with you to develop the most efficient bug tracking and reporting methodology to ensure real-time feedback. Our testing services include:

Project: Escient selected McElroy to localize its Fireball advanced digital home entertainment management system into French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Solution: The project entailed the localization of software GUI, documentation, and website components. During the localization process McElroy worked closely with Escient to test and make changes to the GUI so it better handled the expanded text in the foreign language versions.
Benefit: Escient is slated to add languages as it penetrates additional international markets and plans to use McElroy to complete this work.
