History
McElroy Translation was founded in 1968 to provide technical translation services into and from all languages. Worldwide sourcing of linguists who are subject matter experts for business translation was almost unheard of in the 1960s. McElroy Translation's founder, Ralph McElroy, incorporated quality control metrics in the process early on, pioneering what was to become an industry standard.
In the 1980s, Bruce Farmer focused attention on the cultivation of the best linguistic talent possible. One example is that of Mr. Cheng, formerly one of China’s top laser engineering scientists. In addition to this pursuit of quality and excellence in translation, Mr. Farmer understood the value of customer loyalty, and the importance of long-term relationships between clients and vendors.
Since 1999, Shelly Priebe has continued to refine and improve McElroy's historical commitment to quality translation and customer service with a progressive business approach that has created a high level of professionalism at McElroy through smart staff acquisition and championing staff development.
In recent years McElroy has expanded our services through strategic partnerships. We have excellent technology, engineering and production capabilities integrated into our processes, enabling us to offer clients turn-key solutions for a range of multilingual products.
Under Shelly’s leadership, McElroy has developed an enviable reputation within the industry and client community. Because of her strategic future planning, McElroy employees work for a company strongly positioned for success in the face of an unprecedented rate of change within the language services industry. We continue to grow our roster of clients including Fortune 500 corporations, law firms, government agencies, and companies in emerging technologies.
