A Message from the President
Dr. Mark Ritter brings his experience as a translator, editor, and technology instructor to his post as McElroy Translation's chief language officer. His strategy-level position focuses on the pursuit of linguistic quality through optimization of technologies and human processes. Mark provides an interesting and cohesive primer on past, present, and future language translation technology in his article "George Bush's 18-Year-Old Binoculars." The need for language solutions is touching more people every day, and the range of possibilities for those solutions is growing ever more complex. Dr. Ritter has the gift of "plain speak," and his article is insightful. He concludes, "The best part is that instead of threatening the value of human translators, these new technologies increase it."
