2007 Goals Accomplished and 2008 Goals Set
Many of our website news readers will be familiar with McElroy’s annual goal-setting process. Each year, every department sets three goals for the coming year, progress is monitored throughout the year, and a final report on accomplishment is published in our employee newsletter, Ops Notes. McElroy is pleased to report the following highlights for 2007:
- Increased our revenues 15%
- Added several new positions, including VP of Strategy Bob Donaldson, Legal Business Development Manager Rose Neas, and Software Developer Lokraj Adhikari, and contracted with Petras Associates for public relations
- Restructured our operation to create a Project Management Office, directed by Patricia Bown, that is responsible for all project estimates and external vendor services
- Leased approximately 2000 square feet of additional space to accommodate our growth, and replaced our phone system and converted to a T1 line
- Joined Idiom’s LSP Advantage Program, and began implementation of WorldServer
- Implemented the ASTM F 2575-06 Standard Guide for Quality Assurance in Translation in our operation
- Updated all employee job descriptions
- Converted sales staff to Salesforce.com® for customer relationship and sales management
Some of our goals for 2008 include:
- Celebrate our 40th anniversary!
- Continue revenue growth, with a target of 27%
- Incorporate statistical machine translation technology into our client service offering
- Deploy our new online portal for translators
- Renovate our building, including new paint, carpet, and furniture
- Strengthen our reputation as a “green” operation by formalizing a more extensive recycling program
- Refine and build our corporate training program
- Update our employee website and handbook
