Salvation Army Christmas Angel Program

This is a very popular program among McElroy staff, with many in-house employees participating. The Salvation Army Christmas Angel Program provides gifts of clothes and toys to children in the Austin community. This program as a whole provided for over 14,000 kids in the Austin area in 2003!

We provide a Merry Christmas to 35 needy kids, the "Angels," through picking a card with a child's first name, age, gender, clothing and shoe size, and wish list requests. We are also able to donate to the holiday dinner groceries that the Salvation Army purchases for each family to make the day complete. Salvation Army volunteers then distribute the bundles to all of the families as well as assembling packages from individual items purchased and donated. For many of us, shopping for our Angel(s) has become a family tradition with our children as excited about it as we are.
